Q1. Is there a minimum qualification requirement to join Sequential Foundation Course (SFC)?
A1. No, there is no minimum qualification. However, it is desired that participants are literate enough to read alphabets, small words and numbers in Hindi/Urdu.
Q2. Do you have an age bar for enrolling in SFC?
A2. No.
Q3. Can female teachers join SFC?
A3. Yes, in fact a number of female teachers have successfully completed SFC and our are present batch has 8 females enrolled. For female participants the board and lodging is arranged.
Q4. Can non-teachers enroll in SFC?
A4. Only candidates in teaching and related professions and who are serious about learning will be allowed to register for SFC after personal interview.
Q5. Are SETD programmes open for non-Muslims?
A5. SETD makes no distinction based on religion, caste. creed or color.
Q6. What are the fees for SETD programmes?
A6. All our programmes are for free.
Q7. Is it mandatory to attend all the sessions of SFC?
A7. Yes. This course is delivered in sequential pattern. If a candidate misses one or more sessions s/he would not be able to catch-up with the advanced course in the next session.
Q8. How long does it take for completing SFC?
A8. The subsequent sessions of SFC are held at a gap of about one month. The candidates go back to their respective employments after completion of 8-day session to return for the next session at Aligarh. It usually takes 6-7 months for the full course to complete.
Q9. Does SETD provide certificate on completion of the course? If yes, is the certificate recognized?
A9. Yes. Upon passing the final test the participants are provided certificates. The SFC certificates are not recognized by competent authority.
Q10. What is the relation between SETD and AMU?
A10. SETD programmes run under the umbrella of Centre for Promotion of Education and Cultural Advancement among Muslims of India (CPECAMI) of Aligarh Muslim University. The University has granted two out-of-use residential buildings in its campus on rent to run the programmes.
The serving and retired faculty members and alumni offer their services to the Trust on voluntary basis.
